China's Jaguar Modern Product has a vested interest in promoting its new products.

Although Jaguar is the seventh company in the world to manufacture and sell FAA-approved aviation lifevests, it is the first to receive approval from Chinese civil aviation authority CAAC.

"Our aim here in Paris is to make contacts and meet agents and distributors," says Jaguar president Hundson Wang.

The company also makes an inflatable slide for use when training airline cabin crew in emergency evacuation procedures. Users include Xiamen and China Southern Airlines.

"Airlines customarily employ normal aircraft slides for training purposes even though they should really be used only once," says Wang. "Our product completely replicates an operational slide but is reinforced with Hypalon-coated fabric and has eight stanchions to support the canopy in repeated use."
