Nigel Evans got roped in to his role at Paris by joining in with a joke at a cocktail party. Much to his surprise the joker called him up and invited him to commentate. Discovering he had a great commentary voice, he has been at the microphone ever since.
An engineer and recreational pilot of 20 years, he loves aerobatics and flies a club Robin DR 400. For Nigel the great appeal of Paris is the variety of aircraft that fly here "You can really put the evolution of technology in context when you see the new aircraft fly in the same show as historic aircraft."
Aviation broadcaster Bernard Chabbert is passionate about aviation and has flown more than 250 aircraft throughout his media career. He is adamant that the single thing that differentiates Paris from other airshows is its culture. He says: "The spirit of aviation lives on here. Lindbergh landed 50 yards from where we're standing and drew a crowd of 300,000, bringing Paris to a standstill. It is a sacred place for pilots."
