Volvo Aero has signed an agreement with General Electric to take responsibility for design and manufacture of three key parts of the GEnx engine that will power the Airbus A350 and Boeing 7E7. The deal, which will see the Swedish powerplant component specialist become a revenue-sharing participant in the GEnx programme, covers the development and production of the fan hub frame, turbine rear frame and booster spool. Volvo Aero expects revenues in the region of SKr20 billion ($2.9 billion) from sales.
