Flightglobal has today relaunched its award-winning professional website flightglobal.com, significantly updating the design, reorganising the content and introducing a raft of new features aimed at professionals within the aviation and aerospace industries.
The new look flightglobal.com is the result of months of development, user research and testing, and delivers a platform for Flightglobal to accelerate the introduction of new features, research tools and user-friendly design enhancements.
The updated design now allows Flightglobal's 1.3 million-strong monthly audience to more easily find and browse content relevant to them.
Flightglobal Editor Michael Targett comments on the relaunch: "This is our biggest single code update for several years. This is much more than a simple refresh of the stylesheets; it's a full-on user-oriented reorganisation of the core areas of flightglobal.com."
Targett puts emphasis on the full launch of Flightglobal Pro as a significant part of the relaunch: "Flightglobal Pro introduces powerful subscriber services to the Flightglobal experience.
"There are a range of Pro packages, to meet different information needs and to suit budgets. So whatever your industry sector and whether you simply want the latest insider news or access to the full range of data and analysis, then we have a package for you."
Today's relaunch is the first stage in an on-going series of future enhancements, built on the new platform. Further development will come thick and fast but for the time being here's an overview of today's deployment.

Improved navigation
Flightglobal's navigation has been redesigned to make it clear to site visitors where to go to quickly find the information they're looking for.
The channels available for visitors to access have also been reorganised to suit different activities users wish to pursue. For example those wishing to browse the news to keep up with current affairs can now find news articles, blogs and videos all under the "News" channel.
Alternatively, people wishing to look up specific information on fleets, airlines, or airports can use the "Research" channel to do so in an efficient manner.
Flightglobal is more than just a leading news publisher, it's an immersive and rich aviation experience. The site features a whole range of content including professional research and analysis tools, jobs and training, interactive communities, social media, real-time aircraft tracking, aviation history, and much more.
To demonstrate this, our new global home page offers visitors to flightglobal.com a snapshot of what's happening each day on Flightglobal.
With an eye-catching "skyscape" design, the global homepage is intending to be visually stimulating reflecting the visual nature of our industry.
Flightglobal publishes hundreds of news stories and blog posts each week.
Our new look News channels are designed to make browsing current affairs a more enjoyable experience while exposing features, videos and expert opinion alongside our daily reportage.
Greater whitespace means spending time on flightglobal.com is easier on the eye, and a broader selection of news channels helps ensure that visitors see more relevant news coverage when checking up on industry sectors that affect them the most.
Lists of "most read" news stories help show which news articles are making a stir around the world at any time.
