WICAT SYSTEMS has secured contracts for McDonnell Douglas MD-80, MD-90 and MD-11 part-task trainers and unveiled plans to develop similar devices for the Boeing 777.

SAS Flight Academy, part of Scandinavian Airlines System, has ordered an MD-90 systems trainer for delivery in the third quarter of 1996. It will be used for differences training between the MD-90 and MD-80 and will simulate systems associated with the MD-90's International Aero Engines' V2500s.

Finnair has ordered MD-80 and MD-11 flight-training courseware, simulation software and ten flight-management-system (FMS) trainers, for delivery in the third quarter. The desktop part-task trainers will simulate the FMS control/display unit and flight-guidance panels.

Wicat reports "strong interest" in its 777 flight-management computer-system simulations. The Lindon, Utah-based company is offering desktop and cockpit-replica part-task trainers.
