-AvAero will supply Stage 3 hushkits for five Boeing 737-200s operated by Calgary, Canada-based WestJet Airlines.

-Lucas Aerospace, which supplies 14 different line replacement units (LRUs) for the Embraer RJ-145, has signed a 10-year spares deal with Trans States Airlines to provide LRUs, plus maintenance on a cost-per-flight-hour basis.

-United Aerodynamics of Denver, Colorado, has clinched a deal with FedEx for component maintenance, repair, testing, storage and distribution in support of most of its large aircraft fleet.

-The US Federal Aviation Administration has awarded Goodyear, Arizona-based Dimension Aviation approval to provide comprehensive maintenance and overhaul work on the Boeing 737. The company has also recently been certificated for maintenance and modification operations on McDonnell Douglas DC-10s, and has won its first contract from an unnamed customer to conduct a heavy maintenance check on a DC-10-10. Dimension may also seek a certificate for heavy maintenance of MD-11s.

-Operating lessor Finova Aircraft Investment Services has placed an order with Hamilton Aviation for 15 Boeing 727 cargo conversions. The first aircraft will be delivered next February, with aircraft following at a rate of one a month. Meanwhile, Pegasus Aviation has taken options on 15 727 conversions, for delivery in 1999 and 2000.

-Sundstrand Aerospace has signed a 10-year deal with American Airlines to support the airline's Tulsa, Oklahoma maintenance facility. The value of the work was not disclosed.

-Pemco Nacelle Services has been selected by Raisbeck Commercial Air Group to convert Boeing 727-100/200 Stage 1 nose cowls to the equivalent Boeing acoustic configuration, which will provide Stage 3 compliance. The company expects to deliver more than 200 units by late 1999. Non-acoustic panels will be replaced with acoustic ones.
