European charter airline MyTravel Airways and FLS Aerospace have formed a 50/50 maintenance joint venture - MyTravel Aircraft Engineering - which began operations this month, providing light, line and technical services for the airline from FLS Aerospace's Manchester facility. This will include A checks for Airbus A320/A321, A330, Boeing 757 and McDonnell Douglas DC-10 aircraft and 1C level checks for A320/A321s. The new operation employs 228 people.
GE Engine Services Malaysia is to maintain CFM56 engines powering local low-fare carrier AirAsia's five Boeing 737-300s under a five-year agreement worth over $20 million.
