Lufthansa says passengers "can rest assured during long-haul flights, enjoying all the highlights of World Cup games on cabin monitors". In addition to daily 15 min round-ups on the IFE, the latest results will be transmitted via satellite to the cockpit and "the captain will then pass them on promptly to the football fans in the cabin". With air rage bubbling just beneath the surface on most long-haul flights, will this be enough to tip the fragile few over the edge?
