Xiamen Airlines signed an agreement with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) on the maintenance and repair of General Electric GEnx engines, which powers the Chinese carrier's fleet of Boeing 787s.
The latest agreement is an expansion of an earlier 2014 component support deal, which Xiamen describes as a “long-term contract”.
Flightglobal's Fleets Analyzer shows that Xiamen Airlines operates six Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
“This major agreement demonstrates the high value and reputation of the services provided by AFI KLM E&M on the global market, especially on the new generation engines such as the GEnx. We are honoured that Xiamen Airlines is renewing its trust by being our launch customer on the GEnx engine,” says Franck Terner, executive vice-president of AFI KLM E&M.
