Xiamen Airlines has applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of China to expand its business licence coverage.
The carrier is permitted to operate cargo and passenger services within China, and to specified cities in the Asia-Pacific region. It is now applying to expand its business scope to cover all international operations.
Xiamen Airlines joined the SkyTeam alliance last November. The carrier operates mostly domestic services, but it also has flights to Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea. It has a fleet of 88 narrowbody aircraft including Boeing 737s and 757s.
