Russia's Yakovlev Design Bureau has pegged the price of its Yak-152 trainer under development at $200,000. Nikolai Dolzhenkov, Yakovlev's first deputy director general and technical director, says the standard aircraft will have ejection seats and will be instrument flight rules equipped. The Yak-152 will replace the Yak-52, offering a 30% increase in performance, Dolzhenkov says. The Russian government is to acquire up to 48 Yak-152s before 2012. The aircraft will be based at the Krasnodar and Lipetsk flight training colleges.
