Testing of the L-15 is due to begin next year, while FTC-2000 flying is under way.

Hongdu assistant chief engineer Ding Zhaoping says that the L-15 is scheduled to fly in December 2005, kicking off a two-year flight-test programme that will involve three prototypes.

Guizhou senior engineer Tang Qi Rong says two FTC-2000 prototypes have completed 200 sorties, with certification due late next year and service entry in 2006.
