A Continental Airlines Boeing 767-400ER was forced to make an emergency landing on 15 June because of smoke in the cockpit.

The aircraft, en route from Newark to Sao Paolo, put down in Brazilian capital Brasilia after one of its engine electrical generators failed and a control panel short-circuited.

The 767 landed safely, with no injuries to the 126 passengers and 15 crew. Repairs were carried out and the flight resumed five hours after the landing.
