Adam Aircraft flew the first of three certification-conforming A700 very-light jets for the first time on 2 February at the manufacturer’s Centennial airport base in Englewood, Colorado. The 34min maiden flight of the Williams FJ33-powered A700 kicks off a flight-test programme that is planned to lead to US certification by year-end and comes more than two and a half years after the non-conforming proof-of-concept aircraft made its first flight. Aircraft serial number 1 has since chalked up more than 400 flight test hours, says Adam, adding that more than 250 A700s orders have been received to date.
