I am a qualified commercial pilot, but many of the airlines I have applied to for employment as flightdeck crew have answered: "You don't have the required amount of hours and experience."
How can I and other qualified commercial pilots get these hours if one is never given the opportunity to climb in the right seat of a decent sized aircraft? You can instruct to build hours, but then you get airlines and companies that are not interested in single-engined time, so you are back to square one.
What should someone in my situation do?
