Irish flag-carrier Aer Lingus has handed a substantial Airbus base maintenance contract to new operation Dublin Aerospace.

Under the agreement Dublin Aerospace will service 12 Airbus A320s for the airline from the beginning of November.

"We have been impressed with their capability and high reliability," says Aer Lingus chief operating officer Trevor Jensen.

Maintenance firm Sabena Technics will perform the remaining base maintenance for Aer Lingus, at its Bordeaux facilities.

Dublin Aerospace emerged as a new maintenance operation at the Irish capital airport following SR Technics' decision to close its station.
