SME AERO will transfer production of its Swiss-designed AeroTiga two-seat sports aircraft from Malaysia to the USA in 2000, once it has fulfilled a pending order for the Malaysian military. The company has selected a base in Tallahassee, Florida.

In the meantime, SME plans to deliver six aircraft to the USA in 1999 and 12 the following year.

The $150,000 AeroTiga, which is powered by a Textron Lycoming O-360 piston engines offering a cruise speed of 125kt (230km/h), is targeted at the aerobatic, sport aircraft and training markets.
