An Airbus A380 arrived in Toulouse yesterday with Lufthansa titles on the side of its nose, after returning from the ILA Berlin air show (pictured below).
The aircraft, manufacturer's serial number 004, had been expected by some to be displayed at the show in full Lufthansa livery, following the precedent set at both the Dubai and Singapore's Asian Aerospace show, when the manufacturer applied Emirates and Singapore Airlines foils respectively.
Hopes of a Lufthansa liveried A380 were raised when the aircraft (F-WWDD) left Berlin after the trade days of the show to complete airport trials at London Heathrow airport. German enthusiasts had hoped for a stickered re-appearance over the general public weekend days at the show.
However, the aircraft returned to Schönefeld with Lufthansa markings visible only on the nose during the A380's flight display at ILA over the weekend.
Flight International mocked up how the aircraft might look in full Lufthansa livery for its 9-15 May ILA special edition (pictured below).
