Canadian scheduled and charter operator Air Transat has selected IFE Services as its new in-flight entertainment content service provider.
The agreement, which begins on 1 November, covers the provision of movies, TV shows and audio channels across the airline's entire fleet, according to IFE Services.
Flightglobal's ACAS database shows that Air Transat operates five Airbus A330s and 13 A310s.
Additionally, IFE Services says it will meet all of Air Transat's original production requirements, which will include branding and graphical user interface (GUI) development for the Panasonic Avionics platform running on the carrier's A330 audio/video on demand (AVOD) in-flight entertainment systems.
As part of the agreement, IFE Services will also provide Air Transat with a full suite of technical services including encoding and content management.
Financial terms have not been disclosed.
"IFE Services convinced us that it could offer us original content to meet our customers' needs in this area," says Des Ryan, Air Transat vice-president, in-flight services and commissary.
