Airbus UK is to add 650 staff to its factory at Broughton in Wales, to meet increased production requirements.

Record sales of Airbus aircraft and the development of the A380 and A350 models mean that Airbus needs to add to its 6,500-strong Broughton workforce. The Welsh Assembly is providing Airbus with a £5.2 million ($9.2 million) regional selective assistance grant to help fund the expansion.

Andrew Davies, Minister for Economic Development and Transport, is “delighted that the Assembly government has been able to support Airbus UK to create these substantial quality employment opportunities... This is a boost for the company and the local economy, and a major vote of confidence in the Broughton workforce.”
