Mauritian aircraft leasing company Veling has completed a sale and leaseback deal for two Boeing 777-200 aircraft to Emirates.
The deal involved financing from a consortium of three African banks: South Africa's Nedbank Capital and Mauritius' State Bank and Bank One, says Veling.
"With the purchase of our first 777 aircraft, Veling reaches a new level in its development as a growing aircraft leasing company," says the company's chairman Uday Nayak.
Including the 777s, Veling has 13 aircraft in its portfolio. Besides Emirates, it leases aircraft to Sri Lankan Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines and Air India among others.
