Airports of Thailand (AOT) saw its fiscal third quarter net profit fall 64% year-on-year to 1.3 billion Thai baht ($38 million).

This is a 2.3 billion Thai baht drop from the 3.6 billion Thai baht it made a year before, says the operator of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.

In the three months to 30 June, total operating revenues fell 31% to 5.1 billion baht, adds AOT.

The world financial crisis and Thailand's domestic unrest have affected Thailand's tourism and export industries, hurting the bottom line at AOT.

Without giving specific numbers, AOT says third quarter aircraft movements fell 11.3% on-year, passenger traffic fell 14.2%, and cargo traffic fell 23.8%.
