BRITISH AEROSPACE'S Asset Management Organisation (AMO) has placed six more BAe 146s with European and Australian operators.

Swedish regional carrier Malm" Aviation is acquiring a ninth aircraft, a 146-200, on a five-year lease from September; Mistral Air has already taken delivery of a Series 100 for scheduled passenger services between Sardinia and the Italian mainland; and National Jet Systems is leasing one Series 100 and one series 300QT for three years for use on behalf of Australia Air Express.

A new operator is Mellila Jet, which plans to lease two Series 100s for a three-year term later this year. The airline will operate scheduled services from the autonomous region of Mellila on the North African coast to the Spanish mainland.

Virgin Atlantic franchise operator City Jet launched a Dublin-Brussels service on 19 June. Two round trips a day are flown with BAe 146s by City Jet, as an extension of its Dublin service to London City Airport.
