Commercial aircraft net orders came in at 801 for June 2013 with another 30 swaps and 13 cancellations. The high figures for the month are directly associated to the Paris Air Show where strong transaction activity traditionally occurs.
In the highlights of the month, Ryanair ordered 175 Boeing 737s while Lufthansa ordered 100 Airbus A320 family aircraft, including 70 for the re-engined neo. Ilyushian Finance Company placed orders for 32 Bombardier CSeries and 22 Irkut MS-21s while Singapore Airlines ordered Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft with 30 of each. US regional carrier SkyWest Airlines ordered 100 re-engined Embraer 175 E2s. The main cancellation came from United Airlines who cancelled 12 A320s.
New orders for Boeing totalled 267 while Airbus received 241. Embraer took in 107 orders while ATR, Bombardier and Irkut received 82, 42 and 22 respectively.
In the narowbody market, 227 737 aircraft were ordered including 30 for the Max variant. A total of 170 A320 family aircraft were ordered while the CSeries and MS-21 took in 32 and 22 orders respectively. In the widebody market, the orders were for 65 A350s, 40 787s and six A330s. In the regional market, 100 175s and 75 ATR 72s were ordered. The ATR 42, Dash 8 and 190 also received seven orders each.
Overall, the commercial aircraft order backlog ended June at 11,950, up 624 on the previous month.
