ARINC  announced it will form a joint venture company with China's Aviation Data Communication Corporation (ADCC) to research and develop new aviation products and services.

The announcement strengthens the relationship between the two companies and follows the recent renewal of ARINC's contract with ADCC to continue providing GLOBALink aviation communications services in China.

Randy Pizzi, ARINC's managing director for Asia Pacific, said the JV company was being formed, "to combine ARINC's global expertise in airline communications and airport IT with ADCC's core competence in applications development".

The JV will develop products for projects jointly identified by the two companies for commercial application and sale. Typical activities are expected to include airport tarmac management services, which involves providing real-time monitoring and management of aircraft within an airport.

ARINC will also help ADCC distribute its products globally, while ADCC will help ARINC localise its products and services for the Chinese market.
