Testing of a Boeing F/A-18D equipped with a Lockheed Martin Advanced Tactical Airborne Reconnaissance System has successfully demonstrated the datalinking of images to a ground Marine Corps Tactical Exploitation Group. ATARS gives the F/A-18D a day/night all weather reconnaissance capability. The addition of a datalink antenna allows imagery to be analysed on the ground in real time.
