Australia’s infrastructure minister Warren Truss has appointed Jeff Boyd as the new chairman of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
Boyd, who founded now-defunct regional carrier Brindabella Airlines, succeeds Alan Hawke, who has served on CASA’s board since 2009. Boyd's appointment will last for three years.
“Mr Boyd has been deputy chair of the board since July 2014 and brings to the position a wealth of aviation experience in both management and operational roles,” says Truss.
Truss also announced the reappointment of Angus Houston as the chairman of air navigation services provider Airservices Australia for a further two years.
“Sir Angus's performance as Airservices chair over the last three years and his role in leading the Joint Agency Coordination Centre in the search for MH370 demonstrate the attributes that will stand the organisation in good stead for the next two years,” he says.
