Darwin-based GecOz and Australia's Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) are seeking commercial backing to upgrade the latter's airborne X-band synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) demonstrator to include an L-Band ground mapping capability. The DSTO currently flies the X-band SAR on its Raytheon Beech 1900C airborne surveillance testbed aircraft. GecOz was formed in 2001 as a commercial spin-off from Charles Darwin University.
