Australian composites maker Quickstep has received a $12 million purchase order from Lockheed Martin to produce wing flaps for 24 C-130J Hercules aircraft.
Deliveries are set to commence in late 2013 with the company producing two sets of flaps monthly, says Quickstep.
"Each set of wing flaps comprises four parts with an aluminium structure and skins of carbon fibre composite, providing light, strong components capable of great endurance and longevity," it adds.
The order is the company's largest one to date. Quickstep also produces parts for the F-35 programme.
