The Northrop Grumman (booth 3639) X-47B has made its first flight from NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, the US Navy's main flight test centre. The 35min flight occurred on 29 July using Air Vehicle Two (AV2). Both air vehicles were trucked to the air base from Edwards AFB, California, where they have completed check-out flights.
Tech Source (booth 1949) has unveiled its low-power Condor VC 100x H.264 video capture and compression card, designed to ease video compression challenges in unmanned air vehicles and other surveillance, image detection and video recording applications. "This card has been designed for use in UAVs and for other mission critical video streaming applications that require low-power and yet high-profile H.264 compression in a compact, lightweight form factor," says Selwyn Henriques, president and CEO of Tech Source.
Apacer (booth 2054) is demonstrating its latest industrial solid-state drive solutions, targeting aerospace applications where reliability and performance under extreme conditions are required. The company is debuting its embedded SAFD 25A SSD product with SATA 3.0 interface, designed to deliver high IOPs at a capacity of 512GB. Visitors are also invited to examine a newly introduced mSATA module with SATA 3.0 interface specifically designed for applications that demand rugged performance in a very small form factor.
