Rud Aero (booth 239) is showing one of the few manned systems at the show, its developmental RA-2 aircraft.
The Florida-based company designed and built the carbon fibre prototype in less than one year. The company brought the aircraft to highlight its rapid design and prototyping capabilities to UAV designers that need development and production assistance.
Although the RA-2 itself has yet to conduct its first flight, the company says the market for the single seat aircraft is the "unlimited aerobatic" market. It claims that the type will be able to handle g-loads of +/-26. It is powered by a single Lycoming piston engine.
