Starkey Aerospace Corp (Starcor, booth 5043) is showing off its SX-1 supersonic unmanned aircraft.
While it has not flown yet, the carbon-fiber, 110lb airframe should be able to hit Mach 1.4, says Ryan Starkey, company CEO.
But the aircraft is merely a test bed for the after-burning turbojet that Starcor is developing.
The 15lb engine delivers over 200lbs of thrust. It also uses next-generation fluidic thrust vectoring, but the early prototype will use mechanical thrust vectoring.
Starcor is working with several US government agencies, he says.
