Boeing will contractually deliver its first 747-8 Intercontinental to an undisclosed VIP customer on 27 February.
The aircraft, which is registered A7-HHE and believed to be for the government of Qatar, will depart Boeing's Everett, Washington facility at Paine Field the following day.
The General Electric GEnx-2B-powered aircraft will be ferried to a completion centre for outfitting in a VIP configuration.
A7-HHE made its first flight on 30 January.
Boeing holds orders for nine VIP configured 747-8 aircraft.
The first delivery of the 747-8 had been planned for December 2011, but post-certification rework caused the delivery to slide into early 2012.
The first airline passenger configured 747-8 for Lufthansa with 386 seats is expected to be delivered in March.
