Boeing and Singapore Aerospace Manufacturing (SAM) have launched an engineer training programme in Vietnam. The 18-month course will include preliminary training at SAM sites in Singapore and one month's experience at a Boeing facility. The scheme was inspired by the Aerospace Manufacturing Symposium, hosted in Hanoi last year by Boeing and the Vietnamese ministry of planning and investment. "The most important factor making any industry or organisation a success is resources, especially human resources, "says Christopher Flint, Boeing country executive for Vietnam. "Recognising this, Boeing is joining SAM to train Vietnamese engineers in preparation for them to work here in SAM's future manufacturing facility in Vietnam. "Boeing is also working with Vietnam Airlines and American Pacific University on an aviation curriculum.
