An undisclosed customer in Latin America has signed a purchase agreement for one CRJ700 NextGen special mission aircraft in a deal valued at about $67 million.

The order includes ancillary services and modification work, but Bombardier is not releasing details “at this time”.

Michel Bourgeois, president of Bombardier’s specialized and amphibious aircraft and military aviation training, says the latest order is another sign the NextGen aircraft series is a “platform of choice” in the special mission market.

Bombardier has previously signed an order with an undisclosed customer in China for seven CRJ700 special mission aircraft.

That deal was worth a total of $330 million, including modification work.

Bombardier describes special mission applications broadly as head of state transportation, medical evacuation and “other missions”.
