Bombardier will undertake the repair and overhaul of third party engine nacelles at the Dallas-based facility it intends to open in 2009.

The airframer says the shop will initially repair nacelles for the International Aero Engines V2500, the Rolls-Royce RB211 E4 and the CFM International CFM56-7.

Bombardier’s Belfast-based maintenance, repair and overhaul business has grown over the past few years. The new US facility will take over the nacelles work Belfast currently does for airline customers in the Americas, offering an improved turnaround time, says a Bombardier spokesman.

The company is currently investigating leasing premises in the South Dallas area but cannot be more specific at this time.
