BAHRAIN BUSINESS

Bahrain International airport has signed an agreement with MENA Aerospace to build and operate one of the region's largest private and general aviation facilities to exploit the region's burgeoning business aviation market. Under the terms of the deal, MENA will provide partly fund the facility - which includes a 26,360m² (285,000ft²) hangar, private taxiway and apron - and provide maintenance and support services for business aircraft at the site.


HANGAR8 PROFIT

UK charter and management company Hangar8 has posted a half-year operating profit of £300,000 ($480,000) compared with a £400,000 operating loss for the previous six months. According to the Oxford-based company, total group revenue rose by 43% to £7.2 million up to the end of October 2010 and charter revenues increased 52% to £6 million during the same period. Hangar8 raised £2 million ($3.12 million) investment late last year when 21% of the company was floated on the UK AIM stock market. The money will be used to acquire struggling business aviation companies worldwide and enable Hangar8 to achieve its goal to double its 21-strong business aircraft fleet - including Europe's first Embraer Lineage 1000 - within the next 12 months.


ABACE SUPPORT

Most of the leading business aircraft manufacturers have committed to exhibit at next year's Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition, according to the show's co-host, the National Business Aviation Association. ABACE - which will be held from 28 February to 1 March in Shanghai - is retuning to the air show calendar for the first time since 2008. The NBAA and its Asian Business Aviation Association partner were forced to cancel the 2009 event due to the economic crisis.


PHENOM CENTURY

Embraer says its Phenom 100 came top of the aircraft delivery leader board last year with 100 of the entry-level business jets shipped to customers worldwide.
