TAG CONSULTATION
TAG Farnborough Airport says its preliminary consultation with local communities and businesses reveals a mixed range of views. The report, published on 29 September after a four-month consultation, reveals that more than 70% of people in the area say the airport contributes to the local and regional economy. The consultation also highlights concerns on a range of issues including the environment and noise. TAG Farnborough Airport chief executive Brandon O'Reilly says: "This preliminary consultation is important as it seeks to engage local people on the future of the airport. I am very pleased with the high rate of response and the interest shown in the airport. It is important that we listen to what local people have to say and take these views into account as we develop our plans for the future." TAG is seeking approval to raise its annual 28,000-movement ceiling following huge demand for the business airport.

GARMIN RETROFIT
South Africa's National Airways is planning to offer the Garmin G-1000 retrofit for the Beechcraft King Air 200 from December and predicts strong demand for the upgrade. To date, the only glass panel solution for King Air 200s has been the Alliant flightdeck, of which National Airways has completed two installations. "The G-1000 offers more to our customers as it is a genuinely integrated system that includes RVSM and synthetic vision," it says.
