US AIRLINES Standard & Poor's has put United and American on negative credit watch, potentially limiting their ability to raise financing. It expects United to suffer cash declines due to debt service and capital expenditure commitments, while a loss-making second quarter has raised concerns about American. Even the relatively buoyant Southwest Airlines has had debt downgraded by Moody's Investors Service on declining profits.
