Good Week

Kaiser Aluminium, which has been emerged from four and a half years in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as a reorganised and "vastly different" company following divestment of non-core businesses.  The company, which makes high strength aluminium plates and tubes for aerospace, is considering further acquisitions to bolster a $75 million expansion programme.  Kaiser's new stock was trading at $45.30 on the Nasdaq stock exchange following its listing.

Boeing, which is facing protests from Senators over a possible tax deduction on a $615 million settlement it has reached with the Department of Justice (DoJ) over claims following its hiring of a former Pentagon official and its treatment of Lockheed Martin documents. Senators Charles Grassley, John McCain and John Warner are concerned that allowing the payment to be tax deductible would leave "the American taxpayer to effectively subsidise its misconduct".
