US Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemasters are to be fitted with a terrain awareness warning system (TAWS) developed by British Aerospace Systems and Equipment. The UK company has teamed with Lockheed Martin Control Systems to provide TAWS functionality in the company's video integrated processor (VIP) being developed under contract to Boeing. VIP will be fitted to all air force C-17s.
