CAE has opened its new business aviation training centre near Morristown airport in New Jersey, north-east USA and has simultaneously announced plans to expand the centre from six simulator bays to 12 to meet increased demand.

"Approximately 60% of the world's business aviation is located in the United States and a big part of that is within a 500 mile [800km] radius of Morristown," says Jeff Roberts, CAE's group president, innovation and civil training and services.

CAE now operates 24 civil training centres, four of which serve business aviation, including its centres in Burgess Hill in the UK, Dubai, UAE and Dallas, Texas - home of the world's largest business aviation training facility with 36 simulators.

The North East Training Centre houses the Dassault Falcon 7X, 900EX EASy, 2000EX EASy, Gulfstream IV and Sikorsky S-76 simulators. Other platforms will be added, CAE says, including a fully convertible Gulfstream 450/550 full-flight simulator.
