Shandong Airlines could become the first carrier in China to operate commercially the Cessna Caravan single engine utility turboprop, following an order for three aircraft and options for a further 37. The aircraft, a Grand Caravan and two float-equipped Caravan 675s, will be delivered to the Jinan, North West China-based airline in the first quarter of 2001. They will be used initially to open new market opportunities.
