Cessna has delivered its 1,000th 172R Skyhawk since production restarted in July 1996 and announced initiatives to stimulate sales of its light aircraft.
The company has introduced a leaseback programme which allows buyers to lease their aircraft back to their local Cessna affiliates for hourly rental by other pilots. The company says rental revenue will help offset monthly finance payments and qualify the buyer for tax benefits.
