Cirrus has established its second aircraft reassembly operation outside the USA with a new facility in Brisbane, Australia, to cater for Australasian customers. The Australian reassembly operation is run by Brisbane-based Sunland Aviation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cirrus Australasia, and is responsible for sales, maintenance and training in the region.

Sirrus SR22 W445

The move follows strong sales of Cirrus aircraft in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Rim, particularly in Australia. At the start of this year Cirrus launched the reassembly concept in a joint venture with Isle of Wight, UK-based Britten-Norman, which is reassembling and delivering 100 SR20s and SR22s a year to Cirrus’ s European customers.

Aircraft for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Rim will be partially dismantled at the Cirrus facility in Minnesota, USA, and shipped to Brisbane where they will be reassembled at Sunland’s Archerfield airport site.
