Elbit Systems has unveiled its Skylark I-LE Block II unmanned air system.
The new version has an operational range up to 8.1nm (15km), an approximate 3h endurance, and is designed to perform in harsh environments such as at high altitudes and in gusting winds, the company says.
A hand-launched type, the Skylark is built in Texas by UAS Dynamics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems of America.
The company says the Block II air vehicle has been developed "based on lessons learned and operational experience accumulated with US forces in Afghanistan". Skylark aircraft have now logged more than 25,000 flight hours combined, it adds.
