CMC is supplying Lufthansa with its latest generation Flight Management System (FMS) – the CMA-9000 – for the retrofit of 14 Airbus A300-600 aircraft.

“The selection by Lufthansa confirms our industry leading FMS capability and a variant has been selected by Thales to form part of the its avionics suite on the Sukhoi Superjet 100,” says Jean-Pierre Mortreux, president and CEO CMC.

The CMA-9000 family of FMS has applications for all types of flight, commercial, military, rotary and fixed-wing.  Its heritage is not too shabby either as it is derived from the CMA-900 FMS/GPS and the CMA-3000 FMS. It comes as a single unit with multi-sensor navigational capabilities that include GPS, INS, DME and EGI (Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System) certified for civil aerospace.  Because it conforms to the ARINC-739 multifunction control display unit standard it is suitable as a display and control unit for other systems such as ACARS (Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System).
