Chromalloy Gas Turbine is promoting the latest technology gas turbine aerofoil coatings in Hall 3/C14.

The process uses an electron beam physical vapour deposition process. The coatings reduce the temperature of the metal, giving vanes and blades a longer life in the engine environment.

The new technology has taken five years to develop and has just been accepted by manufacturers on their latest engines.

The coatings, made in Nottingham, UK, and New York, are now used by all the major engine manufacturers including GE, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce.
