Aerotech Telub and Industry Group JAS have received a SKr72 million ($6.6 million) contract from FMV, the Swedish defence materiel administration, for maintenance equipment for the seventh and eighth Swedish air force Saab/BAE Systems JAS39 Gripen squadrons. Cubic Defense Systems, teamed with Metric Systems, is to provide "rangeless" air combat training systems for nine US Air Force and Air National Guard bases under a $40 million contract. The systems include deployable PC-based debriefing stations and refurbished airborne instrumentation pods incorporating GPS. L-3 Communications has received a $10 million contract from Saab Avionics to provide colour multi-function liquid-crystal displays for the Gripen. Airod is to stretch two Royal Malaysian Air Force C-130s, lengthening the fuselages 0.7m (28in), under a contract worth70 million ringgits ($18.4 million). The Malaysian modification centre is also negotiating to update the air force's C-130s with global air traffic management avionics. Derco Aerospace has begun providing logistic support for six Venezuelan air force C-130s under a one-year contract worth $8.5 million. InspecTech Aero Service has delivered approved replacement parts for various models of C-130 under a US Air Force aircraft on ground order. National Jet Systems is to provide an additional 1,600h a year of Coastwatch surveillance flights using Bombardier Dash 8s under a four-year Australian Government contract worth A$33.2 million ($16.7 million) including equipment upgrades. Rockwell Collins' Kaiser Electronics subsidiary has begun delivering head-up display cameras for US Air Force Boeing F-15Es under a contract to supply 150 for retrofit and 13 for new production HUDs. Rockwell Collins has completed flight tests of a multi-mode receiver with integrated microwave landing system and will begin deliveries to the USAF next year.
