Embraer has received a type certificate from the CTA, Brazil's civil- aviation authority, covering the standard and extended-range versions of its EMB-145 aircraft. US Federal Aviation Administration certification is expected this month followed by European Joint Airworthiness Authorities approval, in January. Continental Express was due to take delivery of the first two aircraft on 18 December.
